Hike through remote wilderness with a group of huskies as companions. For summer fun, our sled dogs join us on hiking and backpacking trips. The dogs help out by carrying most of the food and gear, so you only need to carry your personal equipment.
Hiking With Huskies Combination Trip
Hiking and Backpacking with Pack Dogs, Canoeing, Boating, Dog Team Rides! Our most popular summer trip!
On Day 1, we pick you up in Whitehorse and drive out the North Klondike Highway to Lake Laberge, then boat to our home on the east side. After lunch, we go hiking for the rest of the afternoon, joined by some of our sled dogs. We return for a campfire supper on the shore of Lake Laberge.
The next day, we put on our packs and head into the wilderness to a remote lake. The dogs carry the food and tents so guests only need to carry their personal gear. We will spend two nights camped at our lakeside camp.
On Day 3, we take a hike with small day packs and climb a high ridge for spectacular views of the area.
The following day, we load up the backpacks again and return home by a different route.
Days 5 to 7 are spent based out of our home camp, exploring the Lake Laberge area by foot, boat, and canoe. We will have dog team rides on one or more evenings or mornings (temperature permitting). Accommodation at our home is in a cabin or in large wall tents: on the trail, we sleep in backpacking tents.

Hiking with Huskies Based From the Home Cabins - $200/person/ day + 5 % GST
(2 person price: $182/person/day + 5% GST). Includes day hikes, dog team rides, canoeing and boating.
4-Day Backpacking with Pack Dogs – $800/person + 5% GST (2 person price: $728/person + 5% GST) 4 days/3 nights – An excellent first time backpacking experience! Scenic day hike and overnight at home cabins, followed by 3 day/2 night backpacking trip with pack dogs to a secluded lake. Sundays to Wednesdays.
7-Day Backpacking with Pack Dogs - $1400/person + 5% GST (2 person price: $728/person + 5% GST) 7 days/6 nights - On Day 1, we pick you up in Whitehorse and drive out the North Klondike Highway to Lake Laberge, then boat to our home on the east side. After lunch, we go hiking for the rest of the afternoon, returning for a campfire supper on the shore of Lake Laberge. The next day, we put our packs on and head further into the wilderness, spending the next several days walking through peaceful forests and along the shores of secluded lakes, camping beside lakes and streams in the evening. We return home on Day 6. On Day 7, we go for a hike out of our home, then travel back to Whitehorse in the afternoon.
By Pack, Paddle, and Paw – $2350/person + 5% GST (2 person price: $2140/person + 5% GST) – 11 days/10 nights - 4 days hiking and backpacking with pack dogs in the scenic Lake Laberge area, 1 rest day at our home cabins, and 6 day canoe trip on the Yukon River from Lake Laberge to Carmacks.
Guests should be in good health, but don't need to be "super athletes." It is our goal to adjust our trips to individual abilities and comfort levels. For backpacking, you need to be able to carry your pack of personal gear over uneven terrain, including hills, for an average of four hours a day. If you think this might be a little "rougher" than you would like, you might consider basing your trip out of the home camp, exploring the spectacular Lake Laberge area during the day and returning to the home camp for overnights.
Boat
tours can accommodate a wider range of fitness levels, however, guests should
still be in basic good health and need to be capable of getting in and out of
the boat and taking short walks. Cabin-based tours can be customized for
guests of varying fitness levels. If you aren't sure whether you could do one of our trips or
